Tampa vs. Orlando vs. Miami — what's the real difference?
All three cities have world-class artists and tourist traps; the skill isn't the difference — the experience is.
- Miami has a huge, flashy scene — and beach-strip walk-in pricing to match. Great artists exist; so do high-volume shops built for impulse tourists.
- Orlando shops near the parks see heavy tourist traffic; the best studios are away from the attractions and book ahead.
- Tampa runs quieter and more custom-oriented. Studios like ours in Channelside — minutes from the cruise port and downtown hotels — work by consultation, design every piece from scratch, and still take walk-ins when an artist is free.
The one rule of vacation tattoos: timing
A new tattoo can't swim for 2–4 weeks — no pool, no ocean, no hot tub — and needs to stay out of direct sun. So:
- Cruising out of Tampa? Get tattooed after the cruise, not before. We're ten minutes from the port — plenty of our clients book for disembarkation day.
- Beach week? Book your session for the last day or two.
- Theme parks? Parks are fine — just keep the tattoo covered from sun and sweat-cleaned. Full rules in our Florida sun guide.
