Tattoo Aftercare Guide
How you heal your tattoo is just as important as how it was done. Follow this guide, and if anything looks off, reach out — that's what we're here for.

The First Few Hours
Leave the bandage on for the time your artist specified. When you remove it, wash your hands first, then gently wash the tattoo with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Don't scrub. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
The First Two Weeks
Wash gently twice a day with warm water and fragrance-free soap. Apply a thin layer of the aftercare ointment or lotion your artist recommended — thin is key. The tattoo may peel, flake, or scab lightly. This is normal. Do not pick, scratch, or peel anything off.
What to Avoid
No soaking — no baths, pools, hot tubs, or oceans. No direct sun on the healing tattoo. No sunscreen until fully healed. Avoid tight clothing that rubs. Avoid heavy sweating for the first few days. Absolutely do not pick at scabs or peeling skin.
Weeks Two to Four
Continue light moisturizing and keep the area clean. The skin may still be slightly dry or shiny — this is normal. Once fully healed, begin applying sunscreen daily. Sun protection is the most important thing you can do for the long-term look of your tattoo.
When to Reach Out
If you see signs of infection — excessive redness, swelling, heat, pus, or fever — contact a doctor and reach out to us immediately. If the tattoo looks like it's healing unevenly, or if anything doesn't look right, message us. There's no such thing as a silly question during healing.
Long-Term Care
Once healed, keep it moisturized and protect it from the sun. Protecting a healed tattoo from sun exposure helps preserve its contrast and color over time. If you ever want a touch-up, we're here for that too.
